The association was re-established in 2025 with the following guidelines.
Mission Statement
Working collaboratively with Alberta Parks and other provincial and municipal governments,
WLCOA provides a unified voice on behalf of the Winagami Lake cottage owners for the
betterment of the park and cottage community.
Objectives
- Provide effective and cooperative governance within the WLCOA, building and
strengthening the cottage community.
- As proud stewards of the Winagami Lake Provincial Park and cottage owners, WLCOA seeks
to establish and be recognized as a key stakeholder group with Alberta Parks, guided by
a “Terms of Reference” or similar document that entrenches this recognition.
- Identify and resolve issues that WLCOA members bring forward.
- Work collaboratively with Alberta Parks and other Government of Alberta departments
and municipalities.
- Identify and implement programs that benefit the park as well as the cottage area.
- Seek opportunities for funding and other support within the Government of Alberta,
municipalities and the private sector to further initiatives identified by WLCOA and
Alberta Parks.
